1. EMAIL –

Email is one of the cheapest forms of communication.
When I started this company four years ago the first thing I did was sit down and work out who my target market was, I then made a list of all the companies I wanted to get in contact with.
Setting up a good professional business email to companies is key.
Keep it short and to the point.

  • Include a brief bio about yourself.
  • A couple of sample images of your work.
  • A link to your portfolio.
  • What type of licenses do you offer.
  • What format you can supply patterns in.
  • How quickly can you provide the patterns?
Buyers do not want to read pages and pages when a designer contacts them, be precise and to the point.

2 . CONTACT / FOLLOW UP – Key In The Textile Design Industry

After emailing wait a few days, then pick up the phone and introduce yourself to the buyer. Again this is FREE apart from the cost of the call, the buyer is always grateful for the personal introduction and it breaks the ice. Be confident, tell them why you think you could be a good fit for their company, and offer to do a sample for a project they may be working on – as a taster of how you interpret a brief.

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Be personal.
  • Be confident about your work.
  • Be can be a good fit for their company?
  • Offer a sample.
