The Art Nouveau Challenge
The art nouveau movement week one. The surface pattern marketplace now sends out weekly design challenges to designers, illustrators and artists on their marketplace. Sending out a weekly design challenge, is a great way to get their creative skills flowing. By accepting the challenge they then have to create a design in their hand, giving their own interpretation of what the challenge might be.

Designers Creative Hand
Each week they choose a topic that is quite relevant or popular in this industry. It has been noticed a lot of fabric and wallpaper design houses are reinventing the fabulous style from the Art Nouveau movement, but re inventing it with a twist creating a new more modern style.

Willam Morris
The Art nouveau movment, one of the main iconic designers of the time was William Morris. Art Nouveau would never have been the same without that iconic designer. Art Nouveau is a french name for new art, which does refer to a style of architecture, decorative art, and a certain style of painting and some sculpture that was very popular in the 1900.
